I'm not half the man I used to be...

You know, nostalgia's not what it used to be... Those that know me will know that I've been trying to lose weight since the start of this "annus horribilis", and today as I nervously looked at the Wii Fit screen it told me that I have now lost a total of 2 stone. This new found svelt-ness (excuse me?) lead me straight to a pile of jeans in my wardrobe that haven't seen the light of day since Duran Duran were at the height of their fame back in the 80's. What do you mean you've never heard of Duran Duran (sighs).

I clambered over the bed in a rush of excitement to pull them over my hips, and in doing so spotted the brand name, "Pepe". A name in fashion that I thought had been long lost with me as a patron. As I looked at myself in the mirror and appreciated the snug fit, I grinned from ear to ear. Not because they fitted me though, but because the tight legged style is of course back 'in', so perhaps I'd appear as a young trendy dad to Vicki when I go to visit later. Maybe I should dig out my denim jacket and do a "double denim". OK, on second thoughts...

As pleasant a distraction as this tale was, I'm sure you're much more interested in Vicki that my fashion faux pas. Vicki is still not able to sleep, she is still being sick every few hours. She's going to have an ultrasound scan today and have a tube put in to drain her stomach. I'm keeping everything crossed that this allows her the rest that she desperately needs.
